Glad to have found this site. Great looking FN goodies here.

This is my new SCAR. Mods include:
TD Battle Grip
ELCAN Specter DR
TD Stubby VFG
Surefire Mini-Scout in a LaRue mount
BFG sling w/MASH hooks
bbl. cut back and a Surefire 556k brake S/S on to make length and be legal

Shoots better than I can. Very interesting rifle that I look forward to gaining a better understanding of in the next few months.

Looking good!

Did you have to modify the grip? Or grip tang?

Thanks everyone! I certainly appreciate your acknowledgments, as this is my personal firearm.

I work for SGC in a sister division, so our gun smiths did a fantastic job of cutting the bbl. and adding the SF brake.

I had the morning off, so I spent it shooting. 300 rounds w/o a failure, and the current configuration is totally awesome. Absolutely no muzzle rise, and a co-worker made the most absolutely accurate statement about the SCAR I've heard yet! "F%^ double taps, this b*&^% does triple taps!" that is so true.

The 14.5" barrel with this break, the large mass of the bolt assembly, etc. make for a net 0 impulse firing cycle.

I think we are on to something big here,

Looks good and sounds like it's running properly for you.

No change in accuracy due to the barrel chop?

No known problems?

Would you mind telling us how they gas was adjusted for the shorter barrel?

Thanks for the pics and info.

Really looks good at that length.

This. If the barrel chops prove reliable/accurate I will be getting this done.

How does it shoot now with the barrel / muzzle brake mod compared to the longer barrel with the PWS FSC-556? Were there any issues with the process of getting it chopped and threaded?
