I guess since we aren't a big company we won't show up on that list even though we are over $1 cheaper per box. Probably doesn't help that we are out of stock at the moment, but should be getting a few pallets of the stuff in by mid month.

What happens is that smaller vendors usually run out of their supply more quickly, so they don't remain on it very long. As an example, I just purchased some 5.45x39 from AIM surplus a few weeks ago, thinking they were the best deal. To my surprise today, I see that US Armory Corps have a slightly better deal, at 1¢ per round cheaper. It may not make much of a difference for a single box, but if you get 5-10k rounds, it ads up - moreso if shipping is factored into the equation (the cost per round goes up by 3¢). I doubt that will remain up too long, but we'll see.

The nice thing about the box is that as soon as the deal becomes available and it gets reported by a member of the gun-deals site, it gets integrated to the list, and updated on an hourly basis. Individual users that are interested in buying ammunition through listed vendors click on the line item, later have the chance to either endorse/validate the deal or Flag the deal as fake/bad.

This particular table only gives the raw price, but UPS shipping estimates are also available through the site.

I guess I hit the perfect storm. On 11/10/11, I purchased the 500 ammo can with 197 from Cabelas at $179.99 and then received a $20 credit for purchase over $150 and then I applied for their Cabela's Club visa card and received $25 in instant bucks on the purchase. Add in the shipping and the net price was $151 or $15 a box. Keep it in mind and always check what is doing on Cabelas when the list of prices has them on the top of the heap at $179.99

Current Cabelas 5 day sale $17.99 per 50 197s. Over $99 is free shipping. Get the Cabela visa card and get $25 instant off. Sorry if you live in state where tax is taken. Not in SC among others so I am to the good.
