    Ammo costs.really that bad?

I've been wanting to buy a Five-seveN for a very long time. I will soon finally have enough spare cash to buy one. Everyone at work and etc. has been telling me that it is expensive to shoot. I've asked them how much a box of 9mm ammo costs and they say around 17 bucks. Now i found 5.7 on cheaperthandirt.com @ 20bucks per box + shipping. Personally I'm willing to pay the extra few bucks for a state of the art super accurate round. How much are you guys paying for factory ammo? I'm not really taking reload prices into consideration at the moment.

You can buy 5.7 X 28 ammo in quantity and get a better price than that. The last time I bought 2K rounds, it came out to about $16.70 per box with shipping. One of the forum sponsors True Hunter Supply usually runs ads when he gets a shipment in. Check in the forum sponsor section for the latest ads.

I'd say anyone that has one will tell you it's worth it! Just buy in bulk and don't think about it. I did just that and got an annual membership to my local range. So now when I show up I don't spend a dime at that point. Feels painless that way! You'll love the 5.7 round, and the gun itself......then you'll need a PS90 too! Don't doubt me on that!

The 5.7 ammo is no more expensive than any other type of quality ammo and a lot less expensive than some.

It cost about the same as shooting 45ACP.

As mentioned above, shop around and buy in bulk (1000-2000) rounds and it should last you a year or two. Paying shipping is cheaper than paying slaes tax in my state. I do that with all my quality ammo and save a bunch. If you're worried about cost, I just picked up an Umarex HK MP5 SD in 22 LR. Quality gun for $450-$500 and 550 rounds 22 LR runs about $19. Many other quality 22 LR pistols in all brands, if you do your research. Maybe not as LOUD, but just as accurate and fun. Don't have to hide it from the wife!

Thanks for the input guys. IDK if I'll have enough cash laying around to buy in bulk, but I'm gonna get it regardless.

I've paid .41 per round shipped. I see some other deals from time to time for under .40 a round plus shipping.

a year or two? har har har! that lasts me a couple of months.....tops.....

i buy a bit here and there as the sales come up. i wait for teh free shipping from cabellas (no tax for me) and get 100-200$ at a time. pretty soon the pile of boxes grows. you should eaily be able to get them for under $20 per box.

Find one or two people in your area and go for a bulk buy and split it with them.
