    Minor correction: Barnes did have a conversation with the ATF and the result is that Barnes no longer offers their Barnes Banded Solids in the .223 caliber. You can read more from Barnes here:

    wrong.. EA's Trident ammo was the same composition as Barnes Banded Solids. You'll note Barnes no longer sells .224 Diameter banded solids...

    Most of all of Barnes loads are Copper...

    EA's new trident line is all copper as well

    So glad I stockpiled some of them when all this happened with Elite.

    The Elite Trident was a Barnes banded solid (brass) projectile in .224 that was machined from 45 grains to lighten the projectile weight.

    The ramification of the ATF ruling on the brass projectiles is that any brass projectile that can be used in a handgun load is now potentially classified as AP by the ATF and as such, will no longer be available as indicated on the Barnes press release.
