I have a NH non res, so it gets me a few states. I all so have Maine, which gets me nothing, as you must have res. permit to get a few.

38 minutes driving through Mass to get to NH??? SPEEDER!!!!

Fly into Logan, rent a car, you could get to NH in 38 minutes.

Shortest distance through MA via Highway is 55 miles, Route 91, Agawam to Northfield. Conn. border, to Vermont Border.
Yeah I know. This just pisses me off though.

I usually do Interstate 91 through Mass. Hell, last time I followed a cop and that is how I made it in 38 min. I wouldn't fly into Logan. It's not the flying or Logan, it the damn car rentals. I am usually in NH for 6 to 8 weeks and a car rental for that long is more than $1K for a car to sit and do nothing. Bus is out of the question as there is none to where I am going (Great North Woods - Berlin specificly) so I fly into Manchester when I do fly in and hope that I can get a relative or friend to pick me up in Manchester. But traveling with firearms makes it a hassel as you loose a suitcase due to traveling requirements (one hard sided for firearms and ammo only) and it's hard to travel with all the hardware I want, so there is an additional costs there. Thus when I do drive, I usually have a &*%^ load of firearms with me, pistols, rifles, shotguns, and black powder as well as ammo so I basicly have to have two safes in my car, one for firearms and one for ammunition so that I can travel through the restrictive states.

I just wish that they woud ^&%* and get off the pot on this one. It sure would make my life alot easier.

Either way, NY does not issue non res permits so you can never get across NY with a loaded firearm unless you are a resident and are permitted. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid NY City without adding hours and hours to the travel time.

    Thanks for the info though.

    Resident Permit

Cool link. MI CCW is accepted in more places than Florida's. Kind of nice. Just need to stay away from Oregon, California and the east cost...
Yeah they do, but MI does not do non-resident permits.

Unfortunately, the terratories play their game as well and there are very few states that have reciprocity with PR, VI, Guam etc....

The maps are nice, as you can sellect your state then select the resident/non resident option (if your state allows non resident permits) and then work with the map to get as many states as possible with as few permits as possible by selecting other states as well. The general consensus is that Florida and Utah non resident permits offer the best for the least.

But then there are the states that simply do not play. California, NY, and a few others.

Im retired, do alot of traveling, and spend alot of money in various states. Guess which ones don't get any of my money......

Yeah, the only states that wouldn't accept a MI CCW permit are the states that don't accept any permits other than their own.

I generally try to avoid those states, but the CCW thing is not the only reason...

    I hear ya HK.

Coming up 95, if you go via Garden State Parkway, in NJ, and over the Tappen Zee Bridge to 684 to 84 to Hartford CT, connect to 91 there. Much quicker, don't have to deal with that mess in NYC only about 7 miles more.

G.S.P. and Tappen Zee have tolls.

95 in NY, and CT SUCKS, two lanes of B.S.
