Thousands of Dutch Prepare for 2012 Apocalypse, According to Report

The world will end in 2012 — or so say thousands in the Netherlands preparing for the apocalypse in four years, the Dutch-language newspaper de Volkskrant reported Tuesday.

The paper spoke to those who believe the 2012 date signals the impending end of civilization and are stocking up on emergency supplies, equipment and life rafts in case of flooding, United Press International reported.

While theories vary as to why 2012, in particular, is believed by some to represent the world's end, most say it is the end of the Mayan calendar. Some are optimistic about the apocalypse, saying they no longer want to live in the modern world.

"You know, maybe it's really not that bad that the Netherlands will be destroyed," Petra Faile told de Volkskrant. "I don't like it here anymore. Take immigration, for example. They keep letting people in. And then we have to build more houses, which makes the Netherlands even heavier. The country will sink even lower, which will make the flooding worse

I have been thinking about this for some time now... and I have talked to friends about this idea. So tell me what you guys think and if you want on board. Normally I am not one for litigation I believe it is worthless most times. However I believe that in this case it could be worth it. I want to sue organizations that have created this panic because honestly... who would know about 2012 if people hadn't made a huge deal about the end of the world.

I highly doubt that this will ever happen but it is fun to talk about.

Honestly I think that its worth giving the idea a little respect because according to the history channel there are like

5 or 6 different ancient civilizations that all say something is going to happen in 2012, the mayans did pretty much hit

the nail on the head when they predicted the first explorers would get there.

I guess the only to find out would be to sit it out and watch the fun.
