    Who hunts with their FAL?

Thinking about bringing my FAL (once I receive it, of course) down to Florida with me to do some hog hunting. Anyone else use theirs for hunting here?

I mostly hunt with handguns, but I do have some Fal rifles and I usually keep my "beater" Fal in one of the farm trucks. Because it is with me a lot of the time it gets used a lot for spur of the moment hunting. I have taken black bear, deer and all manner of varmints with it.

New guy here. I have taken my FAL hunting, the ergonomics make snap shots a breeze, but the weight is an issue on long treks.

    Welcome to the forums.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

New here, I hope to hunt with mine. One day, but the weight needs to be cut a little. Looking for some light weight options. Shorter barrel, lighter furniture, skeleton stock ], etc.

Still the idea of coyote, deer, and dare is say elk one day would be cool.

I would say it's a bit much for dogs. Plus, from what I've seen, some of those dog shots are made way, way out. The FAL isn't as accurate as say a bolt action or the FNAR for long distances from what I understand.

I just joined a gun club with an indoor rifle range and can't wait to start shooting mine!

See Sgt as for ideas on mods. He's the FAL man!
