It's neither. It's one of those that was built in South Africa for the most part. Not having checked for every proof mark I can't say for sure on every component. And like I said, proof marks were commonly removed before they were smuggled into Rhodesia to protect the source. This particular rifle was built from a parts kit that was sold through "The Ammunition Store" when Ricketts on the falfiles did a group buy. The white rack numbers would surely stand out but they were there on the buttstock when I bought the kit. All I did was repaint them. I have also seen them in red on other kits. I have seen Rhodie kits that were clearly Imbel made, quite a few Belgian from who knows what country, etc. The lower I used for my T-48 clone came from a Rhodesian kit and was an early Belgian type 1. A type "A" would have been more correct but those are nearly impossible to find. kck I hear ya about the prices of kits back in the day. I bought the Rhodesian para kit back when the Tapco $89 G1 & Imbel kits were around and I paid $450 IIRC. That was a huge amount of money to pay for a parts kit at that time but it was extremely rare and I had to have it. I wish I had kept that one. That same batch contained a small handfull of Belgian HB rifles also covered in babyshit camo.Originally Posted by Redleg
