Bud, I don't know if they are corrsive or not. Blanks make a big mess in the barrel and gas system and you will need to throughly clean both after firing. Use Break-free or soap and hot water to remove any corrosive residue.
You don't need a blank firing attachment if you are firing single shot, but will need an attachment if firing semi-auto.

I thought the U.S. stopped making corrosive ammo in the 50s.

I was given about 800 rds of linked Lake City ammo head stamped 61, I haven't fired all of it but it functions all right in my L1A1 (ex British Army) and I have had no problems with corrosion, as for the blanks forget them. All you get is a very much reduced bang, which is of no use to a civilian. Unfortunately you can't even cut off the neck extension and reload them unless you are into neck reaming.

Soap and hot water? Thats what I use in my Remington NMA, but the world has moved on since then. There must be 1001 oils and cleaning agents to do the job properly for a modern weapon.AL1. A tip from an ancient weapons instructor that I know works is to use Scotch Brite and white vinegar on stubborn carbon deposits. Just make sure that there are no cuts or open wounds on your hands!
