I'd like to see that too. I have various 20mW lasers and non of them will pop a balloon. Now a 2Watt laser will at some distance.

For anything bigger than a 5mW laser on a firearm, you need markings on the firearm in the form of a safety sticker.
For anything bigger than a 10mW laser, you need the proper sticker and a lock out device, if keyed, the key can no be able to be removed while in the on postion.

10mW and 20 mW lasers can cause some damage in you looked directly into them, and in some frequencies, even the scattered beam reflection can be dangerous.

Anything over a 20mW laser and you should have safety goggles. Up to 20mW, its not a bad idea.

I think that only fed/leo can have a laser on a firearm between 5mW and 10mW, and probably higher.

I beleive that there is someting in the FDA rules that limits the laser sight illuminators used on firearms to 5mW if you are a civ, less you put someone's eye out with the laser instead of using a stick.

    Freakin Nanny Government.

Now in Europe, they do not have such foolish rules, in most places.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

    It's a 2 Watt laser... NOT 2 milli-watt.

2 mW (milli-watt) lasers won't pop anything. A 2 Watt or 2000 mW laser will pop balloons, burn skin, and damage your eyes (directly or reflected).

Now if we can only buy a 2 Peta-Watt laser like in 1985's "Real Genius", who would need ammo... LOL

Personally, i feel a laser that powerful is unsafe as a weapon sight. All i need is to accidentally shine that thing at my eyes in a mirror or something if i'm investigating some bump in the night in my house.

Self imposed blindness is not cool.
