    20mw Green Laser

    At 2500 rounds without a hitch now. It's holding up much better than any other compact laser I've used. $185 shipped. Click the link on my signature for more info and pics.

    The FDA controls laser output requirements and the pertinent code of federal regulations can be found here: CFR - Code of Federal Regulations Title 21

    A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

    With 2 watt diodes now available. I see a lot of people ignoring the "legal" limits....
    I was thinking of upgrading some of my laser sights.

    From what I found, here are the classifications:
    Class 1 - A Class 1 laser is safe under all conditions of normal use.
    Class 2 - Typically safe; limited to 1 mW.
    Class 3R - Typically safe if handled carefully; limited to 5 mW.
    Class 3B - Hazardous; limited to 30 mW depending on AEL in other wavelengths.
    Class 4 - Hazardous; typically output more than 500 mW;
    class 4 laser can burn the skin, or cause devastating and permanent eye damage as a result of direct, diffuse or indirect beam viewing. These lasers may ignite combustible materials, and thus may represent a fire risk.

    Note: 2 watt blue or green lasers will pop balloons almost instantly at more than 100 feet.

    Yeah above 5mw you are supposed to have a lock and an "armed" light. I was selling these lasers with lock and safety goggles, as a kit.
