OK, OK. I know it should have been quicker than 4 or 5 days, but......
I got TWO.

Technically from separate sources, but that does not matter much.
I will say that much of the thanks should be directed toward my friend. He is not anonymous, but wishes to remain "vague" to the "unknowing". Thanks be to MachineGunMan. It is his nickname, of sorts. I don't believe he visits these boards so, anyone with that name or similar name here is just unoriginal.
All I have to say is that it is a very good thing to know people. And it is good that
I (emphasis on the I) know people.
Ok, down to business....How much is the information worth?
All I ask is that anyone that thinks sending me PMs will make it happen quicker just hold their thoughts to themselves. As I implied earlier, I believe jhs has a "distribution" list of sorts, and any requests should be filed with him (Sorry jhs).
I am quite busy most of the time and will work on the electronic copy when I get a chance. (Don't even ask for me to send a copy to any supposed individual "more capable" of scanning the document quicker. Neither copy is going anywhere far from me.)
Now, I have some questions for anyone experienced in book repair....One of the documents is in "worse" condition. This will be the one I "deconstruct" for scanning. My question is this, what are the best methods of restoring such a manual. In other words, how would a person go about "re-gluing" the cover on the pages after scanning the pages through an industrial scanner/copier? My current thought is that I will take it by a local library that I know does book restoration to have an experienced individual repair the document in front of my eyes (Please remember that I am completely responsible for the "worse" copy actually. It will hopefully be returned sooner rather than later and hopefully in near original appearance. The "better" copy was given to me on an indefinite loan, if you will. It is in the safe and will remain there unmolested.) And, yes I realize that the document contains information on firearms. Generally one might think that liberals inside libraries would want nothing to do with firearms. This may be the case, but I can be quite the wordsmith. I have been known to be persuasive.
Stay tuned for further information...
