I decided to try the EA magazine lip protectors on two of my 5.7 magazines. I watched the video EA has on their web site and followed their instructions.
The results?
They state the magazine follower will NOT hang up or catch on the metal protector. I found that if I depress the follower it will hang up on the metal insert.
O.K., time to bevel the front of the follower. I cut a small bevel, re-tryed it, same story. Repeat process, and again it caught on the metal.
At this point I re-watch the instructional video on EA's web site and try and blend in the bottom edge with the two part epoxy. I will retry the follower tonight, but at this point I think I'm going to relegate these mags to range use only
Were the lips of your mags broken? I have yet to break any of the lips on mine, but admit I haven't dropped any of them on concrete/ super hard surface..
Yep, if you are not breaking the lips you are trying to fix a problem that does not exist.
In over seven years never had it happen to one of my mags.
