I was curious, I got FN to send me one of the replacement metal mag releases to replace the plastic one that came on my gun. The plastic ones are known to wear after heavy use and lose bite on the mag since the plastic wears down.
My question is, if anybody else got one did it come to them in matte silver too or did anyone receive one that was blued?
I wasn't going to put that silver piece on my OD and black FsN so I have been bluing the piece but it is a PITA to blue, I have been soaking and working on it for the past 3 days and it is turning a pretty nice black, but I am just surprised at how long the oxidation process is taking. I know that it is a steel-type part because it is magnetic, so I am using a bluing agent for steel, not aluminum (PS90 upper is aluminum). I will post pics of it when I am done bluing it and am happy with the results.![]()

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
So here is my stupidity, I had been bluing the part and decided to take the old mag release out, to drop in the new one, so I take it out and low and behold.....IT WAS METAL ALL ALONG!!!!

I asked for one of those new mag releases, while on the phone to get a replacement slide cover. The guy on the phone said that I needed to send my lower in for them to do it. Are these not made the same way as the original? If so, why didn't they? If it IS made exactly like the orginal, why did the guy on the phone tell me to send it in?
I've had decent luck. I just email them and say I need XXX and BBB.
Tripple X, and Tripple B, That sounds kinky.....
