It will say "EA" on the headstamp and 07 or 08.

Unlikely to be anything but inappropriate/second-rate ammo. (The fact that it continues to fire when manually cycled suggests it has nothing to do with dirt in the firing pin channel.)

Can you post a pic of the primer? Sounds like bad ammo to me!

Seems that it is very hesitant to eject since my firing was literally bang, click, cycle slide, bang, click, repeat failure.

So, any ideas/suggestions /words of wisdom when using this ammo in the 5-7?

Yes I cleaned it thoroughly before taking it to the range
highlighted in red is your answer.

never use non fn ammo if you need it to go bang. the cases are supposd to be coated with some sort of substance. buying non fn ammo may or may not be coated correctly and not cycle in some guns.

stick to ss198 for sd use.

i really doubt its a firing pin channel issue. these things run so clean you wonder if it was actually fired

Lacquer! Most companies just use new FN ammo they pull the brass then reload it!

AS Lester points out companies either pull down Fiocchi/FN 5.7 ammo and re-use the cases, or now EA is making their own brass, which has a coating on it as well. Edit: Nevermind, I re-read what he stated was happening. Clean the chamber with carb cleaner a .40S&W brush..

I'd suggest cleaning the chamber with carb cleaner and a .40S&W brush. I have some at home I just got in for testing, I'll have to see how it performs. I've only tested their first revision brass (07) up to this point.

I'll give it a good scrubbing tonight and give it another try this week. Thanks for the suggestions.
