Is there something I'm not understanding about the FiveSeveN?

So took my new 5-7 to the range today. Functioned fine with SS197 and SS195. Decided to try a new box of EA Protector I, figured it might be a good carry load versus SS198. Well, no joy. Seems that it is very hesitant to eject since my firing was literally bang, click, cycle slide, bang, click, repeat failure.

So, any ideas/suggestions /words of wisdom when using this ammo in the 5-7?

Yes I cleaned it thoroughly before taking it to the range

Here lies Lester Moore. Four slugs from a .44. No Les. No More.

If it were me I would stick to factory ammo for defense ammo. Ss198 performs just fine

At this point that's the plan. I like SS198 in my PS90's, had just thought about giving this particular EA ammo a chance strictly for the pistol. Will be contacting them Monday since I bought 6 boxes straight from them.

Nope, $35 a box straight from EA.

Possible to have something stuck in the firing pin channel. Or could be a bad batch of primers. Is this with their new brass?

Also noted, the fired case was still in the chamber each time causing me to have to manually cycle the slide for each round. Each time I cycled the slide the new round did fire but the primer looked like it had a black dot in the middle, almost like a pierced primer but not pierced.
