made you ask! made you ask!!.. for real this is a Para-Ordnance +2 base and it is a perfect fit and 16 goes in easy and inserts easly into the pistol with the bolt closed.. Now the bad part, aparently you can't just buy the bases without buying a "preban" magazine, i kid you not that is what they call it on their website. You can take the canuck out of Canada and move him to N.C. make them sell a "freedom pistol" or some such muck and yet they consider a perfectaly legal magazine a "preban" makes me glad I sold both my paras but I have a Bul m5 that uses para mags so I got 6 or 7 of the 45 ones and 8 or 9 of the super 38/9mm and a few of the 40/10mm too. the 38/9 and the 40 has a different insert that won't work in the 45 but you can still get either a complete kit with follower spring and extended baseplate made by Arredondo for the para on page 103 of Brownells catalog or just the extended baseplate for the para on page 104.
the complete kit is 33.00 / 26.40 and the base alone is 17.60/14.80. I am sure the follower and spring would be nice cause theirs NEVER stick but with new mags I am just going for the +2's. too bad STI quit making the +5's for para after they figured out they were just competing with themselves.

So, which FNP 45 mag body do you use... the 14 or 15 rounder? I have a couple of 14s I'd like to put to a more productive use.

I have not tried them but I did find the mag extension without having to buy a complete mag. Arredondo Extended Magazine Base Pad +2 1911 Para-Ordnance 45 ACP Nylon Black

Those should work fine as well and I have some on order from Brownells, I was refering to the ones made by para ordnance. I am going tto call them.

The weird thing is it doesn't even look bigger than the 15. Could you snap a pic of it in the gun?
