you did do your homework jonesxuo8 the 2 guns you picked are both fine i own both fn and s&w, but to say the fn at a low cost of $450 to high of $550 and a sigma at a cost of $260 though $330 is not fair not to mention you are comparing a da/sa to a glock action striker designed to have a heavy trigger pull.the sigma has for the past 10 years been s&w's best selling firearm,it has been on the market since 1993.it is a no thrills gun the fn is a thrills gun. both are under appreciated in the market of plastic gun,fn and s&w do not spend the money on ads. like glock, springfield sig. and others do.also s&w never really recovered from the s&w boycott of the clinton gun ban eara.

Add me to the club! BTW, this forum is what made me choose the FNP-40 over an XD!

I just picked mine up this afternoon! Now, I am anxious to shoot it. Maybe Tuesday?

I will one day be able to say yes.
I'm haggling the price of the FNP-45 down some from a local owner who wants 785 for it. (It is a common fact that he gives discounts to military and police so I'm trying to levy some kind of discount for being in security.)

Failing that I'd have to find an internet dealer who would do layaway.

I have seen some Buy It Nows on gunbroker for like $530-$550, so with shipping and transfer fees (to another dealer of course), I would offer him $585. No reason he cannot come down $200, if not, walk away---After you ask him what my buddy would ask him, "Are F***ing mind?!!?!?!?"

I don't mind giving some markup to a dealer, but that is rediculous. I had to turn down a sponsor of this forum because he high balled me on the price. Must have been the version with gold parts or something, it sure sounded like MSRP to me.
I don't mind someone indicating that they would price match either, but they better do it up front. Don't give me the high price like I'm a sucker who doesn't know better then go lower when you call them out. I quit calling them out on the price, it's better to tell them what you will pay and see if they will bite. You are in the better position because you can walk away, they are the one stuck with the overpriced gun. I learned my lesson when I paid $679 for a GLOCK 21 as my first handgun in 2004; now I know better. Don't even bargain him down, tell him you what you will pay take it or leave it.

The MSRP of the FNP45 is $713.28.

Run away screaming from that dealer.

He is trying to rip you off, big time.

Just picked up a FNP .45

You can add me to the FNP owner's circle. After doing some research on the FNP's, I picked up a new one at a gun show in VA, this past weekend for price of gun: $549 total with tax + fees: $580 out the door. I will post pics and a range report when I get a chance to shoot it. From just examining it closer at home, I am very happy with my selection.
