I recently bought a FNP 40. I took it to the range and had 10 jams or misfeeds. I have shot about 200 rounds through it. I have not had any problems with my Glock. I was wondering if this is a common problem. I was told that it takes about 500 rounds to get it broke in. I was wondering if this is true or is it something I need to notify the factory about. Thanks for all the help and advice.
Did you clean all the factory cosmoline out of it and lubricate it properly before shooting? Also what type of ammo are you firing through it?

Very unusual. is it new or used? If new, check the springs to see if they are tight, if so lock the slide open for a week, and keep mags loaded. Check ammo to make sure it is not under powered cheapo ammo. Check magazine springs to ensure they are not bent. Ensure feeding lips are not bent. Fully clean gun and do a proper lube job. (otis special forces lube recommended by me). ensure there are no warped portions, or notable dents/marks inside the frame, barrel, and slide assembly. Ensure magazines are locking properly. Mark you magazines and keep track of which ones specifically tend to malfunction. Ensure there is no significant carbon buildup on the feed ramp or the lip of the chamber where the top of the casing rests (where the case grabs the bullet). Ensure your technique is not causing the malfunction. Hold the grip rock solid, do not limp wrist. keep all fingers clear of the slide as it cycles.
Thats all I got for ya now.

I am a new owner of a FNP 40 as well. This first magazine i fired with 14 FIOCCI rounds worked great. Bought a box of 100 Federal rounds. every round jams. Bought a box of Independence from the range, and they work fine. Looking at the rounds, nothing appears to be different, but the flat nose of the Federal seems to be larger than the nose of the others. Wondering if the feeding ramp is too steep? Or just a box of garbage ammo? On a separate note, what is a good holster for concealed carry for the FNP 40?

Thank you for your response. I am in a situation now where i want to start buying bulk ammo, but am hesitant that I will have issues. Is there other ammo that several people have reported problems with? I am looking at usaammo. Is this going to be trustworthy ammo?

The weaker ammo is not good for the first few hundred rounds. That seems to be a pretty common trend. I'd stick with the Fiocchi until you have 400-500 rounds through it and then your gun should function fine with pretty much anything.
