E-mail I just got from my FN sales rep:
I got a call from FN yesterday letting me know that they aren't producing the FNP-45 in any variation any more. It will be replaced by the FNX-45 late this Summer or early Fall.
We have a lot of the FNP-45 Tacticals on order from the cash back promotion. The FDE's are not available at all. They are out, and no more will be produced. They do have some of the Black left. We need to call customers that have FDE's on order with us, and see if they want to switch to Black. We also need to see if people are willing to take the guns they have on scheduled order sooner because even the black FNP-45 Tacticals will only be available until they sell out of what they have on hand (end of the week at best).
The other option is dealers can convert the FNP-45s on their ticket to FNX-45s when the FNX becomes available. FN will still honor the cash back they would have received. The FNX won't be available until late summer at the earliest though.
As I learn more I'll post it up.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
Damn, thanks for the update. Kinda makes me wish I still had my FNP45 tactical.

Any other changes to the pistol or just the name on the slide?
No clue, I asked the same question but haven't gotten a response yet. My guess, and that is all this is, is that they will make similar changes to the 45s that they did to the 9s and the 40s when they switched them over. So expect more agressive grips, better safety placement and size, and a few other cosmetic changes. And since it's FN, probably a price increase to boot!

The FNP 45's are already essentially FNX's. I wouldn't mind if they bumped up the safety lever just a touch. I hope they still make them in FDE.

I also wonder about the magazines... will the same ones fit both or will they do something asinine and discontinue them as well.
*wonders if I need to try and find and buy a few more mags for my FNP-45T now*
Dang.
Now, I have to fish or cut bait on whether or not to try and buy the current FNP Tactical at a potential lower price point. OR, wait until the FNX model comes onto the market to make a purchase.
Third option would be to be a baller and buy both.![]()

Well this is disturbing news as I was in the market for an FNP 45 USG. Guess I have to decide wether to buy one now or wait and see if I even like the new model.
