    FNP40 safe to carry??

This might sound silly but I was reading the manual that came with my FNP40 and it says not to carry the gun with a round in the chamber?? How likely is the gun to go off, I know not to have the hammer cocked back, but if I decock it after loading it how safe is it.... I dont want to be second guessing what I am doing and I don't want to carry a gun without a round in the chamber, whats the use of that..... What are your thoughts, what are the chances if it going off if dropped???

The FNP is as safe as any pistol made. The only way it's going to fire is if the trigger is pulled fully to the rear.

What's in the manual is mostly written by corporate attorneys for liability reasons.

Load the gun, chamber a round, decock it, place it in your holster, and have a GREAT California day!

Attorneys.....Might as well carry it with no ammunition to throw at somebody. A round not in the chamber is like a tire without air, a car without gas, a ship without water, a train without tracks, a pool table without balls - useless - until a round is chambered, and that takes time. Ask cops if they carry their primary or backup without a round in the chamber....

Exactly. I'm glad to hear you understand that a handgun carried with an empty chamber is not a very useful tool.

Yeah...I kinda figured that out about 30 or so years ago.

Gimme me a minute, I'm still trying to catch up. The thing I miss the most about aging is the loss of memory, I think....
