[QUOTE=James Jamison;1090105]Would be nice if FN only offered recoil springs so you could change them out every 5-6 thousand rounds, like every other manufacturer.[

MGW sells them. They are however showing out of stock at the moment tho.

MGW FNX/S recoil spring assemblies are routinely out-of-stock.

THE FNH USA PRODUCT SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE DAMAGE,
WEAR AND CORROSION ARE NOT ALWAYS VISIBLE FROM THE

SHOULD CONTACT THEIR DEPARTMENTAL ARMORER WHO
WILL INSPECT THE PISTOL ON A YEARLY BASIS.

There's no way I'm going to take any gun to a "qualified gunsmith" or send it to the "FNH USA Product Service Center" once a year and/or after every 2000 rounds...

I think that's called CYA lawyer talk...
Wow. Crazy. I love my FNS-9c, but this is nuts. HK recommends 10K rounds before it needs to be inspected by an HK armorer.

I called them last year, said they were always back ordered, no idea if they would ever get any.

Yeah, I contacted HK about my P30L and was told the same thing.

I waited over a year, once, for a SIG P-210 magazine from SIG, and finally gave up. That was years ago. Later sold the gun.

More recently I had a similar problem with a part of the multi-part recoil spring assembly in a SIG P-226 X-Five Competition. One little plastic part broke, and it took many months to get the part from SIG. The recoil springs themselves, which are quite different from the standard P-226, had to come directly from Germany -- as you can't use the standard P-226 recoil spring in the X-Five. SIG has it's panties in a twist about the US's trans-shipping SIG guns to some other countries, and won't export most SIGs or SIG parts to the US. If it's not made here, the wait can be long.

I don't know what FNH's problem is, but it is a problem. A great gun that isn't as well-supported as it could be.

And the more you tell them that the more they deny it and let the problem get worse.

Yep, they aren't that worried about maintaining customers after the initial sale.

They are busy with production. There are experiencing high demand for many of their products. We all have to be patient.
