    FN FNS-9C First Range Trip

I picked up my first ever FN handgun this morning at my FFL and went straight to the outdoor range.

I set up three IDPA targets and added some 2" red stickers to one so I could do some accuracy testing. I had already purchased one extra 12 round magazine.

The gun was 100% reliable through 250 rounds. I shot 124gr TJ Conevera JHP and ACME 124 RN both my reloads along with a magazine each of Federal HST and Winchester SXT. Not one single malfunction with anything. I was very pleased.

I shot everything from low ready as I don't have a holster yet (Got home and discovered my Black Point Tactical for my CZ P-07 fit great) and I shot from 7 to 20 yards. I shot some moving forward/back and sideways and some just slow shooting to check accuracy. The FNS shot great, Maybe tended to be a touch low but not much.

Trigger was better than what I expected, a little gritty and harder to press than what I am used to but the reset is very nice. I don't like dot sights so I blacked out the rear. Front sight is wider than I like, I want more light on either side of the front blade but I only jerked a few shots out of the zero or heads all morning. No super low POI as some reported.
I shot with medium backstrap and it was fine, I have small hands, I switched to the smaller backstrap and the gun pointed low for me so back to the medium.
The bottom of the trigger guard worked on my middle finger knuckle where I have a bone bulge, Glocks do it also. I may have to smooth the bottom and edge of the trigger guard a little.
I really like the way this gun looks and feels. I think after some more shooting and maybe a thinner FO sight I will start CCW this gun and maybe shoot it in IDPA CCP Division.
