    Non-Thumb Safety Model????

I have heard that there was or is going to be a FNS without the Ambi-Thumb Safety. This week I called two seperate times and asked FN Customer Service about the non safety model. I also called Friday talked to a secretary or Non CS rep and she transferred me to someone. I think I was talking to a FN Rep of some kind maybe in the same job as Bob Ailes was in long ago.
The Customer Service Reps Didn't know squat about the FNS one hadn't even heard about nor could they find it in the system period as in No Comprende hesse. Another knew of it but only had info for the model with the safety.
The guy that sounded and acted like a FN Rep said that the model with the safety was all that was going to be produced no other variations in that gun or Models. OK so uh now what.

Since the shot show has anybody else confirmed whether or not the Non Ambi safety model is coming? Or if any other models are coming out? Most SHOT show vids have them talking about an extended slide/barrel model and later a 45 model. But nothing about a version without that safety. I have seen some threads on here and other sites that discussed a non safety model.

I'll say this if they build the FNS-45 as a true Full size Single Stack 45 then they will have a winner. How many times have you heard someone say "If Glock built a full size single stack 45 they would have a winner".

Oh and yeah I miss BOB bad too, that guy really helped us out.

According to the FN folks that were at SHOT, the safety-less version is real (pics of prototype below) and should be available April-ish.

    Don't count on a single stack 45.

It will be exactly like the FNP-45, a high capacity double stack.

Remember that the FNP-45 was really the first "FNX" type pistol, and the FNS is just a striker fired FNX.

Now thats what i'm talking about.

A thousand thank you very muches. Shall a thousand camels pass through your village. Shall they pass quickly to not leave big piles of steaming poop everywhere.

See FN USA is clueless I knew it. Oh well.
I can wait till april. But that easter bunny better stop by FN on the way to my house or i'll jack his furry little but up when he gets here.

Just hope on my part for the Single stack FNS-45. As much as I hear glock guys talking about a full size single stack 45 if FN did this there would be a giant sucking sound leaving the Glock platform when it comes to 45acp.

Looking forward to picking one of these up as well. After packing a Glock for the past 16 years old habits are hard to break. The safety is expected and welcomed on my 1911's and the muscle memory is set for it. For the poly duty pistols I carry, I would rather not leave it to chance. It is simply easier to not have it on the pistol and not have to worry about it engaging accidentally. TXPO

    With you 100%, sir.

I'm looking to the FNS safety-less to replace my G23s for EDC after 20 years. The ergos of the Glock just don't do it for me any longer...even the one you worked over for me so well (if you are who I think you are). I've carried that gun every day since I got it back from you. Your excellent work kept the G23 in my hand a while longer. I have just found that as my hands age along with the rest of me, the grip angle and trigger reach of the FN guns suits me better, all else being equal.

Very much looking forward to shooting my friend's FNS-40 in a couple of days!

The XDS is compact gun not full size and without a doubt will have some fans.
But what I keep hearing is guys wanting a Full size 45 ACP with a single stack 9 round mag in a glock Full size frame. AND don't dare say 45GAP or they will practically crucify you, and use harsh language.
Well never see anything new out of Glock, they have got to fix the 9mm guns first. Thats what I keep telling these guys.
They had a chance with the Glock 36. Make a full sized single stack gun use some of the 36 parts set (Mag and slide catch, Slide lock, pins, lock block, trigger parts basically all the guts.) They would have a full size that would use mags that could be used in the compact. Glock seems to love that idea of mag interchangeability, even though some think its not that important.

I got to handle another FNS-9 yesterday. The things feels tight and sprung very heavily. The grip is the only thing that turns me off just a little bit. A little to agressive. But a little bit of Fine sandpaper on the bumps to round them down just a hair will help tremendously. I was really hoping for the HK P40 Striker fired gun that they are supposedly working on to be shown at SHOT so I could compare the P40 FNS and PPQ, but alas it didn't.
