FNS vs Springfield XD 9mm?

Morning everyone, ever since picking up my PS90 I guess I now have the FN bug. I think I can get a good deal on an FSN. Does anyone have a Springfield XD 9 and a FSN, how do they compare? I'm thinking about getting rid of my XD for the FSN.

I have an FNS 9 and an XD 40. I like them both and shoot them both really well. Comparatively, I personally think the FN's are higher quality. They feel more solid and I like the trigger better, plus, the FN has night sights and I like the grip better. I also like the fact the FNS has a safety, although this seems to be a deal breaker for some.

Thanks for the reply... How's the accuracy? For some reason my XD doesn't seem all that accurate.

The xD was my choice right behind my FNX. And I still might get a compact xD.

The xD is often noted to have a high bore axis where as the FNX and I believe the FNS have a lower bore axis. In theory and excluding any other factors, lower bore axis means less muzzle flip.

I like the back strap safety on the xD and the manual safety on the FNS. Each works but the xD design makes for a slimmer carry gun.

I had trouble with the grip on the xDM rubbing my fingers and at times getting a solid grip. I didn't have this issue with the xD grip.

I own both a FNS-9 and a XD9. I feel the overall experience is better with my FNS, and is getting better per round. My issue with the XD is the VERY mushy trigger right out of the box. If they could remove some of the trigger creep (even on the XD-m) I would be happier with my XD.

One of my buddies has an xdm 40 and a xdmc 40. He thinks my fns9 is better and is about to dump the springfields.
I happen to think 40s are harder to shoot, period. I've had shooters that thought my fnp 45 was easier to shoot than my fnx 40.

Thanks for the replies guys...I might have a buyer for my XD, now I have to come up with a fair price. I think I can get the FNS for around $469....decisions decisions

how's the accuracy on your XD9? Mine is very inconsistent, I thought it was the shooter until I shot an older Ruger 9, and I did great with it. However it could still be the shooter lol

Ferris2son , I have found the 40's to be too "snappy" in that their recoil is quick and prominent compared to the 45s and 9s. I prefer the 9mm because of cost and the fact that a good JHP in 9mm will get the job done just as well as a FMJ 45.

I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up a XDm 3.8 9mm at a gun show in the next couple of weeks for carry. I really like that extended mag that comes with the standard 13-rounder. If I grab it, I'll let you know what I think.

I do feel like I am cheating on my FNX-40, though.
