i'm looking for some opinions on a new (3 days old) FNX45 Tactical. After ordering a black FNX 45 Tactical on January 3rd and picked up January 7th I decided to run a box of rounds through it. After running 5 rounds through the gun I had a malfunction (feed issue) and had to manually clear and cycle the slide. The 6th shot resulted in a section of polymer coming free (left side of the hammer) and jammed between the hammer and the firing pin. After this occurred I cleared the gun and removed the slide to inspect. After removing the slide I noticed that the back left slide retainer guide was broken off and missing. Now with the slide removed I can see the area that the polymer section that jammed the hammer belonged (just to the inside of the left "broken" slide retainer guide). I have attached pictures.
Has anyone on this forum seen a failure like this with the FNX 45 Tactical? I plan to visit Shooters Outpost tomorrow morning to show them the damage. This is my first handgun but my first FN. Extremly disappointed that I have spent $1100 on the handgun plus a trijicon RMR06 and an Osprey suppressor.
Any thoughts on the situation would be appreciated.
