Does anyone else have this issue? I have 3 FNP-9's, an FNP-45, an FNP-45 Tactical and an FNX-9. I switched from one of my FNP-9’s to my FNX-9 this summer and carry it in a nylon holster (sometimes in a backpack and sometimes in the small of my back). At least once a week, I find the magazine partially released at the end of the day when I remove my FNX-9 and put it on my nightstand.
I noticed the magazine release on the FNX-9 is not protected like it is on all of the other models. After I noticed this issue, I have been able to reproduce the partial magazine release at will by simply sitting back in my chair at the kitchen table or leaning against a wall.
I talked to FNH about this today and they told me the FNX is not right for me and I should find another model to carry. Any other solutions?
I had the same problem. My FNX9 replaced a Taurus PT809. I appendix carry and like the Archangel holster design(Dale Fricke). He did not make one for a Taurus, so I made one myself.
After I swapped the Taurus for the FN, it only took a few adjustments to make the holster work for the FNX. After carrying for a week or two, I noticed that the magazine became disengaged. I glued a thick piece of leather to the holster that covers the mag release. It fixed the problem.
I will try to get a picture up.
Sitting in a car (or in similar cramped placement) I have the same thing happen with my cross breed suptertuck. The seat belt is what gets mine I believe, I think the mag holder should be a little tighter.

I carry in a crossbreed supertuck, at the 8, and I was having the same issue. I took an xacto knife and cut out leather from the area of the mag release. Problem solved. The thickness of the leather keeps the release from inadvertently getting hit.
As always, YMMV & just my .02.
Brilliant! But wont this void the warranty?Originally Posted by Dsgnr_81

Im glad money is no issue for you, some of us aren't in the "burn it for more space in the house" stage yet! :-pOriginally Posted by jathtech
I had the same problem with my holster, but since its a locally made leather/kydex hybrid, I just hit it with a propane torch and moved the plastic till it worked. The holster was for my sig 229, but with a little tweaking and heating it works like a champ.
Trimmed my crossbreed for the same reason. That and the leather was rubbing my side raw. I recently had to send it in cause the kydex was splitting. I told the guy that I had altered the leather for this reason and asked if it would void the warranty. He said it wouldn't be a big deal.
