Just Got back from a late in the day range trip with the FNX9, ran out of daylight at 42 rounds downrange. 40 rounds of Federal 147 grain FMJ, 2 rounds of buffalo bore +P+ 115 grain JHP that advertises 1400 FPS/500ft-Lbs (I think they are loaded with gold dots) not a single hiccup, burp, fart, or any other type of malfunction. No real accuracy tests yet, but I was picking off 12 Gauge hulls at 7-10 yards consistently (standing, weaver stance)
I am comfortable in saying I would stack this handgun against any I have owned with even or favored odds.

Here are some of my targets. Most use 124gr NATO ball at 30 using single action. Flickr: mattbeals' Photostream

I put bullets in, it goes bang every time. Pure and simple this gun loves to eat bullets. Have not tried steel cased ammo yet.

hit the 1000 round count last night with my FNX-9.. no problems of any type. ive put exactly 1000 rounds of Winchester White Box 115g through it and about 40 hornady home defense hollow points at 115g as well. this is the first gun ive ever purchased, this forum helped lead to me to it. thanks to all who contribute.

Range Report for the FNX-9 SS Break-In First Range Session

Ammunition: Speer Lawman Clean Fire 147 GR TMJ CF #53826
    Specs: 985 fps and 317 ft-lbs.

Cleaning products used on pistol: Tetra grease used on wear-points, Tetra oil in barrel and M-Pro 7 gun oil LPX on other gun parts. I removed the factory lubrication with Remington solvent.

I left the slide open for a week, the magazines fully loaded for a week and I cleaned the gun and lubricated it prior to first use. I had zero problems at the range and I found the pistol a pleasure to fire and very accurate too. I fired 100 rounds and used a Hoppe’s bore snake during the range session. I also brought my USP 40 SS to add to the fun.

I did notice an issue with the FNX-9 9mm 17 round magazines during loading. If you do not put the correct number of rounds in the magazine the follower will cant/tilt and this will cause some of the rounds to move freely. I also noticed if you do not hold the magazine with a slight angle tilting up while pushing the rounds to the back some of the rounds will not seat at the rear of the magazine. The loose round issue did not happen at a low round count. I do not consider this a major issue just something to be aware of.

If you plan on firing several hundred rounds during a range session I do recommend a magazine loader as your hands/finger may become sore. This was never an issue with my USP but the magazine does not have the capacity and has a larger opening for rounds.

Now at 650 perfect rounds. Getting close on what reloads I want to shoot. Great range day today. The dry firing has helped and the accuracy was back to my normal self. Love this gun!

I have about 2,500 rounds through my FNX-9mm without a single problem, it eats anything. While at a training course at blackwater aka Academi now, I put about 700 rounds through it in about 90 minutes (photo) and the FNX was so hot I could not physically touch the barrel, yet the FNX-9 performed flawlessly. My wife's shot my FNX-9, and the second magazine she shot at about 50 feet was right on. The target below was from that shoot. I just bought the FNS-9 and both feel like an extension of my hands when shooting..although my wife shoots a tighter cluster...figure that.

I wish I could post accuracy info. I've had my FNX9 a month or so and its been back twice for the slide failing to lock back. I've swapped all 3 mags and numerous types of ammo with my buddies FNX9 and I still have an issue while his fires flawlessly. Both times service told me that they could not replicate the issue and did not work on the gun. And both times I was also told that the mags had been changed out or gutted. Not true since I mark all components of each mag when I buy a gun. Just getting the gun back yesterday I haven't test fired it but I am not optimistic. I've found many references to this problem on the internet and some suggest storing the gun with the slide locked back. I'll try this until I can get to the range. I just hope I can work this problem out. Any suggestions?

are you limp wristing it at all, and how are you holding the gun. and also what type of ammo, some of the weaker ammo won't lock the slide back all of the time.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.
