    new fnx w/ problem

Just bought a brand new fnx 9 today. Got home and was running through the take down and all that when I realized the trigger won't pull all the way back. If I pull the trigger it will rack the hammer all the way back but never release it. I took it back to the place I bought it and the guy said that was a safty feature. He said the hammer would not go completely forward without a roundd in the chamber. I'm new to fn not pistols and I have never heard of this. I tried to put a spent cartridge in just to get it to drop, but even then nothing happened. Anyone ever dealt with this? Hope this isn't foretelling of how this relationship is gonna go.

Welcome to FNForum. I do not have an FNX. Someone will chime in shortly with some assistance.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

The salesman is FOS. The trigger should operate correctly whether the gun is loaded or not. I dry-fire mine all the time with nothing in the chamber. It's one of the reasons I bought the pistol to begin with...so I had a pistol I could dry-fire without having to rack the slide every 'shot'.

Sounds like the kind of problem some folks have experienced when their FNX got hot...trigger would not drop the hammer.

Suggest a call to FN on Monday.

Good thing you didnt depend on that gun and its safety feature. I would be having a talk with that salesman and his manager.

Yeah, your gun is fucked up... get the store to pay for shipping back to FN to get it repaired. Make sure that the dumbass that claimed it was a safety feature gets ass reamed for putting your life in danger. If you had taken his word for it, and you got home invaded before you could get out to the range, you would have been using a broken firearm thinking it was just a safety feature.....

Just shot the new one for the first time yesterday. This gun is rediculous. I've never shot the well. First 17 shots at seven yards 2" paternal.
