    FNX9 Cleaning/Lubing Products

I was told the Hornady products have Teflon (PTFE) and do not have a long shelf life before it begins to separate.

Has anyone else tried using Simple Green to clean the lower assembly on an FNX-9? I'm wondering if my dead trigger issue is just crud built up in the sear area...

After spending 24 years in the Army, I was convinced that BreakFree was the ultimate.
Then while I was a contractor in Kuwait I had the opportunity to train the Marines FASTCENT and noticed they were using Frog Lube exclusively. They trained in 125 degree heat with dust storms that occasionally turned to sand storms. They never had a gun go down due to environmental induced malfunction.
After returning to the States I switched to FL exclusively.
While going through Front Sights Instructor Development Course, we had some pretty crappy days, and saw quite a few CLP'd guns quit working due to sand and grit accumulation.
My FL'd FNS never hiccuped through the entire four days.
Bottom line: FL is all I use.

I have used Hoppes #9 as a bore cleaner, Gunscrubber or Breakfree CLP as a basic gun cleaner and a special Wilson's lube for where lubrication is needed.

I have decided, as soon as I exhaust my current supplies, I will be making the switch to Frog Lube. It is my understanding that a bore cleaner may still be required after several thousands of rounds in either a rifle or a handgun when using Frog Lube, and of course I would imagine ammunition type may require it sooner.

Make sure that you only buy their reformulated version. It has a gold stripe on the container/bottle.

Mine is the old formula, & it recently caused white fuzzy mold to grow in my spare magazines.

I sent off an email to Froglube's customer service representatives yesterday in regards to this issue, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

I'd still rather use my old formula FL than the other lubes I've used.
    JMike and Blackhorse2010 thanked this.
Make no mistake my friend. It isn't the revenge I'm after, it's the reckoning.
