    Question Fnx-9 help

I just picked up a FNX-9 today and took it right to the range. Before shooting it I took it apart and gave it a quick wipe down and oiled the slide, the trigger parts and hammer parts. After 30 rounds I had nothing but FTE and stove pipes. It also did a lot of double feeding and not locking on the last round. I brought it home and and did a full strip and clean. It is sitting now with frog lube clp and I plan on retrying it on Tuesday. I have read letting it sit while racked open but is there any other suggestions I can try to. this is supposed to be my IDPA gun but i'm having second thoughts now.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the FNX.

FN puts pretty stout recoil springs in their pistols. What ammo were you using? I would work the slide repeatedly while watching TV or whatever to loosen it up. If you haven't, check out this thread.

i was using blazer brass. 124g. i have read a lot on here about the recoil spring so right now i have it locked open and will leave it that way till Tuesday when i shoot it again. i will also work the slide when i'm home like you said. i really hope it just needs to be broke in and that's it. thank you for all your reply and the welcomes. ill respond to suggestions and update after i shoot again.

Working the slide will probably help quite a bit. The symptoms of your gun sounds like it's just the stiff recoil spring.

Just wanted to keep you all updated. Took it back to the range today after work and is shot with NO problems. All the ideas you all gave me worked out well and I'm happy with the gun. Thank you all for all the help and suggestions. I'm glad I'm apart of the forum

Pretty much what I figured would happen. I've personally witnessed a new XDm doing the exact same thing. Once he had 100 rounds through it, no issues.

Could have been that you didn't "spit-shine" it before taking it out the first time. Hopefully all will be good like mine here on out!
