Yes, the threaded barrel would work just fine with a standard FNX 45.

Yes, the standard and threaded FNX barrels are interchangeable without fitting. The FNP and FNX barrels are not interchangeable. Suggest you buy the FNX tactical with threaded barrel since that barrel isn't easy to get. If you don't like the threaded barrel, you can always sell it. See the post "FNX 45 replacement barrel?" on how to order a standard barrel.

Fn is about to start selling the fnx parts individually. You can either buy just a threaded barrel or a fnxt upper.

I've had mine in FDE for about 3 months. I've only put about 500 rounds through it but have encountered no problems. I agree that the nose of the weapon gets a little dirty but mine cleans up easily with a little gunzilla. I also put a DeltaPoint Pro on mine. Really love it. I own a host of other pistols to include Glocks, Springfield Armory and S&W. This is by far one of my favorites. I don't think you'll go wrong with the FNX tactical

I've never owned or shot the FNP, but I do own the FDE FNX45 for a little over a year now. I shoot it regularly, love it!!! It's been flawless since day one in every aspect.
