I received my REM t3b several days ago and opted to install it myself. Chris offers to install it for you but I decided to do it myself (there is some minor modifications needed on the black ring site). I had no problems with the mounting and am sure that if you work on your own firearms or are at all handy you can accomplish this.
Now as far as sight performance is concerned. It is truly a night and day difference. It is like having a holographic sight for a fraction of the cost. Where I used to have problems shooting if there was a light source behind me, now I am able to see the reticle. It is also great in dimly lit areas and when shooting against dark colored targets. I would definitely recommend this as an upgrade.
Thanks for the great product Chris!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I figured I would try this on my own rather then sending the site to him and spend another $10 on shipping. HE will install it for you for free. Yea, I am cheap-besides the directions looked simple enough for the basically skilled. The directions on Chris's site were perfect and should be followed with adherence.
I used a Dremel size 3mm drill bit, the one that just removes material rather than for hole drilling. It is the same one on Chris's web site m1bullpup.com.
Try to drill a tad higher than what Chris's picture shows. I had it identical to where Chris had his hole marked but I discovered that for me, it was a tad low. When I went to put the LED in the hole, it was not as bright as I saw in his pictures. When I removed a tad more material higher, the LED became MUCH brighter and easily seen in the daylight.
The goal here is to center the LED in the tridium LINE. When you drill the hole, you will see white material. If you look very closely, you will also see a FINE horizontal line-the hole should be centered around the line. When the LED is placed over the line it will light the redical with vibrant color. If it is not centered when glued, it will not light as vibrantly.
In order to make sure I had it over the line correctly while gluing, I had used the rubber band as in Chris's pictures and also looked through the site off the edge of the table to ensure that the LED is placed correctly as it dries. Chris's directions say to hold the LED in place for 5" in order for the glue to dry. It may take a minute or 2 longer.
Make sure once it is dry, try not to move it around-put the second coat of epoxy over the entire area including well over wires and metal sides. Its ok if epoxy runs to the washer BUT NOT IN OR HIGHER than the washer due to possible misalignment when remounting . After 15 minutes, I pushed on the epoxy to help form it even more smoothly because of being thick. LET DRY for 30 minutes or so to harden before installing on PS90. Once hardened, I covered the entire glued area with a piece of electrical tape before installing.
I am a righty so I choose to place the dial to the right of the gun barrel not to obstruct my view in any way of the left eye.
Rating the install from a 1 to 5, 5 being very advanced skills needed, I would say that this install was a solid 2.5. It can be done without much of a sweat but ADHERENCE to directions and drilling pressure is a MUST.
Dremel and 1/8 drill bit or 3mm dremel bit
Exacto KNIFE A MUST to clean and cute out hold better.
Toothpick or use knife to hold down while gluing.
Locktight 5 minute epoxy. Chris used the "for metal and stone" stuff, it has a black finish. I opted for the clear stuff in the event epoxy seeped down the bored hole, blocking the LED from lighting up the tridium. Once the sight is installed with a tad of electrical tape over the glued area, there is no chance light will enter the LED area.
The quality of the LED T3b is EXCELLENT and top notch. The dial is tactile and feels expensive. The mounting system is genius and hard to tell that it was an after market part.
I opted for the BLUE LED. Red is so normal, green might be difficult in a lush green grassy areas, but electric Blue looks good in any light and has this Halo game feel.
Excellent person to deal with.
I had telephoned Chris with a question and his wife offered to take a message. I had told his wife that I would just email him since I thought that I may have figured it out.
That night, when I was installing the TD3, CHRIS CALLED ME BACK!! LOL
Thank God, because I did have a question and learned that the T3b could be even brighter using some other batteries he mentioned. (two cr2016 batteries instead of one cr2032)
I am very pleased and would buy from Chris again in a heart beat!! This product takes a good sight and makes it even better.
For those that are torn on what version of PS90 to get, buy the Black redical version-once you get use of a small field of view (done by design-this is NOT a scope gun but a engage target shoot gun) Your head should never be up to the sight but viewed from butt stock. This way you see the redical and dot using the entire field of view. It did take me some time to get use of being that I am a Eotech guy on AR's, but I would not have it any other way now with the T3b.
