Would the Vortex SPARC be a good starting optic for the 308 SCAR 17s?

"God created man, Winchester made them equal."
You could use it but with the legs of the .308 you would be doing a disservice to the rifle. If your just punching paper out to 50-100 yards then you would have no issues with it. Allot of people prefer at the minimum a 1-4x optic with some using 2.5-10's with a mini RedDot like a burris fast fire mounted at an angle for the CQB distance shots.
Hope this helps

Wow! Ordered the Vortex SPARC late last week and got such a great price ($179.99), I felt the need to pay for the shipping costs. Quickly got an email from 3 Rivers Precision after ordering that advised me they were refunding my shipping fee and shipping for free. Brian L. at 3Rivers Precision exchanged emails with me as I thanked him. Great guy!
Got the optic the day before yesterday and I am impressed. Well made, lightweight, clear and comes with a mount and spacers that allow for varying mounted height selection, two batteries, and a 2X magnifier. Optic appears and feels rugged and long-lasting. Lots of great features! Get one while the price is right! The price point is quite surprising when compared to the quality of the optic. I would be willing to pay a great deal more for this product. This is an optic my friends are drooling over as they inspect it -- I expect several new owners of the Vortex SPARC in my circle of acquaintances. Well worth it and the 3Rivers Precision customer service is world class.
Thanks again Brian L.![]()

Will it stand to .308 recoil?
The AR is the rifle for the masses and the SCAR is the rifle for the classes.
