Millet DMS-1 Optic on the FS2k

I've been meaning to post up a few photos, and a quick write up on this scope for awhile.
I tried another, and looked at the very widely used Eotech and other holo sights, and did not want to go that route.

This scope allows CQB use, but is just really nice for plinking around inside of a 100 yards, and with a simple twist of the power ring, you can get up to 4x magnification, and really see in detail what you are shooting at. (Say if you want to go for tight groups at 100 yards or more.)

    Here's looking through it.

The center dot is 1moa. The outer ring is nice and bright. It works in daylight, where many other's I have tried barely work in daylight.

    Off.

On the highest setting. (11 total.)

Just clears the toilet seat when up. And eye relief is very good, so you can use this optic with both eyes open, and at various points most optics would allow. (Don't have to have cheek weld for this to work.)

I'm an ACOG guy but that looks pretty badass. I really like the good eye relief idea, not big on having batteries though. How much did that run you? I have never heard of that company till now.

Well, if you count the other optic that I tried, I've spent about 450.00 on the glass, and another 120.00 on mounts..

But, since I have transfered that to my 1022, and it works great there, this optic is about 200.00 and the mount is about 60.00 give or take a 40.00 either way.

It's a 30mm tube optic, has no signs of a common for awhile "mold' problem that Millet owners were complaining about, and from what I've been told, there are only a few places that do the 30mm stuff. (The only real difference is the level that the glass is polished to, and the coatings they use, as well as some design features, but the basic materials/source are the same.) So, you can spend 2000.00 on an optic that comes off the same line, in the same factory as this optic, and basicly you might be able to see a difference, but I can't, and it's not worth the other 1800.00 to me so say I have XYZ brand optics on my rifle. Honestly, I have looked through, and used a few "L Brand" and "N Brand" that were not any better than the 30mm tube Bushnell and Millett glass secured by the Burris mounts. (Yes, the stuff from Texas is awesome, but again, this scope/mount is dang sturdy, and makes a nice carry handle it's so bomb proof.

On the battery deal, it does not need batteries to work. It works fine without them. But, it is nice to be able to illuminate the doughnut, or shoot in low light with it barely lit to make it easy to see. (This is also true of the Bushnell 3x12x56 that ended up on my 1022.)

Too funny! I have that exact same scope and ring setup on mine, to include mounting the rings backward to keep the nuts away from the charging handle/knuckle path. About to change over to a LaRue mount though, hopefully be able to use the stock irons with a quick toss of the QD levers (can't say "th*ow le^er" since Richard Swan trademarked/copyrighted it).

I've been thinking about one of these for my sig556. I have one of the Millet tactical models (3-14 I think it is) and like it pretty good. Thanks for the pics of the reticules. I'd held off getting one of these because I didn't think I'd like it. But your pics are a lot better than the ones on swfa.com

    Thanks.
