Threading F2K barrel for 1/2x28 thread

I love my F2K but I wanna use my YHM can on it,makes it sound like a .22lr and easy on the ears
To keep from going to a sbr I need to stay over 26" over all lenght and 16" on the barrel. I think there is enough move to do this has anyone else done this?

Oddly enough I was just looking at this very thing last night and Hi Dessertdog has what both of us are looking for. Threaded barrel at 1/2x28 but still 16 inches of barrel length and possibly closer to the factory length if you desire. See the link below as I think this is on target (9th link down on the page)

Tornado Tech also does work on the FS2000 barrel.

The question is; will either keep it perfectly concentric for $75 or beer??? Baffle strikes are expensive!

this is true but there will be no drinking until we have a threaded barrel but since i just removed the barrel for my frist time I'm going to send it of to the pros since I dont have the barrel wrench for this gun and I dont know anything about the gas block

Hi guys, it looks like those two companies have slightly different services.

Tornado Tech cuts the barrel to 14" and permanently attaches the flash hider so that it's not a SBR.

hi-desertdog makes the barrel 16-17" and leave the flash hider alone.

Which option do you think is better?

Do you think the 14" barrel would sacrifice accuracy?

I bought a FS2000 yesterday and want to use one of these services soon.

I'm sure Tornado can do anything you want them to.

Hi Desertdog states(looks like they know what there doing)

Send us your FS2000 barrel to be re-threaded in 1/2"x28 by .635" depth (AR15/M16 standard threads). Barrel will be threaded at the standard 17.4" length or shorter, your choice. This service includes removing original blind pinned flash hider, removing original left hand threads, if shortened then we adjust gas hole to suit and precision recrowning of muzzle. $120 + Shipping $11.90.

Once again, I do not recommend anybody cutting a chrome lined barrel. One of our members had his SCAR barrel done by a very skilled gunsmith, and the result was a small piece of chrome exiting the bore from the crown, and his accuracy went in the trash, along with the barrel.

How bad was the accuracy? Got a thread link?
