I've done some searching and was wondering what are some of the available FH's that some of us may not know about. I've seen car-15 style to Phantom FH's and I have not been able to locate any of these easily.
Thanks for the help.

No FH's available without removing the existing pinned FH and re-threading the barrel for a more "standard" thread ... 1/2x28 to be exact. After that, any 5.56/.223 AR FH or comp will work.Originally Posted by TheMPPC

YHM makes a FH that gits the stock barrel threads, or any FAL muzzle device will work also. You will have to have the factory FH on the FS removed. There is plenty of threads that show a do-it-yourself approach using a dremel and some patience.![]()
Do you fear what you can't control?
Forgot about the YHM-31 and 33's ... good catch RavenCpe. The thread on the FS2000 is 9/16x24 LHT ... oddball.Originally Posted by RavenCpe

Hey thanks folks. Just to confirm I can put an FAL .308 device on the FS2k? I realize the threading is the same but I was looking at a Phantom and wasn't sure if I should purchase due to the different caliber.
Thanks again

I work with a company that just started shipping Styer Aug specific flash hiders. FS2000 is next on the list, primiarily because I want one on my FS2000. http://www.fsgmachining.com. Sign up for the mailing list if you want notification when the FS2000 version is ready. It will be threaded correctly so you only need to drill out the factory pin, unscrew the factory flash hider, and screw the FSG Halon right on to the factory threads.

If you make a version of your flash hider that extends the length of the entire FS2000 past 30", you'll make a ton of money selling to the California market.
I had to buy a Freddy Brake (for .308 FALs), which adds 2.75" to the barrel (from the crown) to meet the Calif. requirement. But it's not a very effective brake, so I am looking to replace the barrel with a longer one threaded for 1/2-28 RH.
I installed a Gemtech quickmount to work with my G-5. It only costs $95 from their site. You need to drill out the pin, but that was very easy. Less than 20 minutes.
