Yep.
But I keep gripping it, and it feels so "positive" with that finger guard on there, that I don't want to lose it. Given how short the OAL of the stock is, the reach isn't too long (at least for me) even though it's a bit longer than most folks' fore grip setups.
I went to a gun show yesterday and looked at (and held) dozens of different vertical grips, fixed and folding. I didn't find any that I liked better for this specific application. So it's still a "keeper".![]()

I applaud your ingenuity. This is very well done. I'm considering ordering an extra hand guard for mine, so I can play around and mod it. I may try your idea as well.
