So I was looking at trying out the Tri-Rail on the gun because I am very curious to see what it would feel like. I am a major fan of the Magpul AFG and would like to throw that on it. Has anyone tried the AFG on it? or only the Vertical fore-grips. Anyone got pictures of it with an AFG?
Trying to decide if it is worth it since I would like to have a Tri-Rail for a light/laser![]()

You'll need the AFG2 as its OAL is a bit less than the AFG1, if you're going that route. There have been a couple guys that did go the AFG route before but I haven't caught any feedback on the results. I tried one and it put my wrist at an uncomfortable angle.
TD QD VFG here.

I haven't tried it personally, but here's a pic:
My concern with this setup is that the AFG is made so you can wrap your thumb over the barrel on an AR... but that's not an option on the FS2000.
I saw that someone else tried it. They liked the way it looked... but not really the way you could grip it. And they reverted to a vertical grip.

FYI if you run a TD or Magpul rail cover on the side rail you can use the top edge as a sort of resting place for your thumb. That's what I do on my 16S, which is also so thick top to bottom that I can't comfortably wrap my thumb over the top.
Pic of the setup FYI

My hovercraft is full of eels.

Of course I am compensating for something.... If I could kill something at 300 meters with my c*ck I would not need a gun!
Thanks for the pics and replies, I use an AFG on my M4 and I dont wrap my thumb up, I actually hold the AFG on my M4 exactly like I one holds the factory foregrip on the FS2000. I may have to buy one and test it out now since I am so curious...

Gents, I have the stock handguard (of course), the tri-rail, the AFG, a bunch of VFGs, I have played around with a lot of these combos.
Installing the AFG, in my opinion, is like installing an extremely inferior (much heavier, much less ergonomic) version of the stock handguard. You cannot use the AFG on this platform the way it was designed anyhow (as was already brought up in this thread). It has a semi-unique look to it, but you really only end up with a way for the weapon to sit in your support hand, not be grabbed by it. It is just awkward.
If you like the AFG on other platforms then you should be thrilled with the stock handguard on the FS2k, because it is set up at a similar angle but it actually made for the weapon, plus, IMO, it is a LOT more comfortable. Really the only benefit you gain from the tri-rail/AFG setup is the added rails. If you really need those, the AFG might be your best bet, but there are a lot of ways to direct mount items to the handguard, especially considering how inexpensive they are. You would probably be better off working with the tri-rail and a vertical grip, though if you really need the tri-rail and actually want positive control over the weapon.
In the end, yes each weapon should be suited to the owner, and if you truly like the tri-rail with AFG, then who am I to rain on your parade. But it really seems like a solution in search of a problem and the AFG is simply not well suited to the dimensions and design of the FS2000. YMMV.
Sounds good. Just wanted to rain on your parade a bit before anyone got too excited
FYI, if you can only get your hands on the AFG1, then with a dremel you can still make it work (as seen above as well). When you install either version of the AFG, I recommend splitting the AFG into it's halves or at least loosening it, as the FS2K tri-rail bottom rail is a tiny bit wider than the AFG was designed for. If you split or loosen and then install it will go a lot more smoothly.
