    optics help

I am new here and will be buying my FS2K in the next 2 weeks. I am also in need of optics and would like to purchase either Trijicon Aimpoint or Eotech because I get a killer discount with these. For a budget of $1000-$1200 from these companies or another brand for about $500-$600 which would be the best option. This will be my first tactical gun so I need a little direction. I do understand there will be some preferences such as close quarters or semi long range but I am looking for something versatile. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. I was looking along the line of something with a 3x ad holographic but an open to suggestions. Thanks again.

If you're looking for a versatile optic I'd say go with a aimpoint/eotech with a magnifier, or the leupold mark 4 Leupold || Mark 4 1-3x14mm CQ/T . The leupold is cool because it can be used as a reflex sight at 1x but can also be used at 2x or 3x settings.

I just bought my fs2000 last week and I went with an aimpoint micro t1 with a larue qd mount. I'm really happy with it and I can cowitness the buis with the low mount. May be getting a magnifier to put behind it in the future as well. I've had an eotech on my ar for years but from now on I'm switching to aimpoint. The little t1 has a 5 year battery life as opposed to the 1000hr battery life of most eotechs. Thats the game changer for me. I'm not gonna poop on eotechs because I like them, but I'm really impressed with the aimpoint.

I tried the Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4 and found that it was a good compromise between the Mark AR and the Mark 4. The 1.25 is not too far from the 1:1 and the lit reticle provides a nice aiming point. Size is also slightly smaller than the other 1.x - 4 sights out there.
