The Slovenian Army model has an elevated picatinny rail. Has anyone made one of these for civilian use?
This question comes up very, very frequently. No one has yet found any way of snagging one. Theoretically, the part would install in an FS2000 Tactical by replacing the factory rail with it (or if you have a dremel you could install it in an FS2000 Standard), but the elevated carry-handle style rail is not available for purchase, and if it were, it would be extremely expensive. Currently, the Tactical picatinny rail costs about $700-800 from Browning/FNH. If anyone here knows an armorer in the Slovenian Army who doesn't mind risking a court martial, though...
"Making" one of these would be quite the project.
Is it aluminum?
I had a rail made for my H&K SL8 way back when.
Local machinist did it for $150 which included anodizing.
If the dimensions could be found, I think it could be done.
Have you ever disassembled the upper? It isn't just a strip of rail. You could probably have a machinist do it - it would be cool - post info/cost/pics if you do. But it is a somewhat involved piece.
Disassemble your upper, bring him your rail assembly, and show him a picture of the Slovenian carry handle model. It is basically the same thing, but raised, with the handle cut in it. Get a quote and let us know how it goes.
do you have a picture?
See this thread: H bar for F2000

Or just try the search box next time...
But anyway, here you go:

By the way, it would be really cool if you had one make with integrated front and rear sights. Even better if they flip down into a recess in the rail, like the rear sight aperture on the Sig556 SWAT.
Your machinist better have a gun drill handy. If not, look here for pricing on the tool.
Sterling Gun Drills - deep hole drilling,drills,gundrills,gun drills,toolholders,spraymist systems,Twinmaster drills,and drilling accessories.
The project will not be easy on the wallet. It might be cheaper to fly to Slovenia and pick up a finished one.
Let's hear how it goes.![]()
07/02 SOT Manufacturer, Suppressors, NFA Firearms, and everything else COOL!
Its the stock forend with short rails attached. I have never seen one for sale. You could get the short polymer rails from MagPul and drill the hand guard yourself. The hand guard is about $20 shipped from Browning parts.

Of course I am compensating for something.... If I could kill something at 300 meters with my c*ck I would not need a gun!
