FS2000 Shortened Barrel, Re-Threaded, Added Mount

Removed pinned flash suppressor, shortened barrel just enough to re-thread to 1/2 x 28 and added a mount for my suppressor.
Included are pictures of the 16S, with stock fully extended it still has a shorter length of pull than the FS2000.
I sure like how short the bullpups are...It pulls the weight of the suppressor in much closer to the body.

I have a Surefire Mini on the way. I am having trouble getting someone to remove my flash hider and install my Surefire MB556k. Did you have any issues with your setup? Did you have it done or do it yourself? If you had it done who did it and what is their contact info? Are there issues with back pressure with your suppressor?

There were not issues. I have a friend that either helps me or does the work I need. He is a Manufacturer of Firearms other than Destructive Devices.
Drilling the pin for the flash suppressor out was easy and it unscrewed from the barrel cleanly, the threads were not marred in the least. We shortened the barrel only enough to remove the 9/16 left hand threads: we cut just behind the shoulder. The lathe work consisted of making sure the barrel was chucked up with no runout. Once that was done the area that was to be threaded was turned down to .5" then threaded 1/2 x 28 and the muzzle was crowned.

The mount was applied and indexed, the suppressor was checked for alignment to the bore. Everything looked good so the mount was removed and Rocksett applied.

From removing the upper from the lower to finish was not quite 45 minutes.

I have not shot it suppressed but I do not think I will have problems based on others posts.

It sure makes a compact package and it brings the mass of the suppressor much closer to the body.

    What is rockset?
Was the barrel length under 16 after cutting or did you have to permanetly attach the flash hider?

High temperature Rocksett, locking compound ideal for attaching muzzle devices.

Similair to locktite. So does this count as making it permanetly attached, I thought it had to be pinned.

The barrel is 17.44" long according to FNH as the rifle comes new. It is still well over the 16" minimum for a non-SBR so nothing needs to be pinned.

Edit: Also, I meant to add without the mount, the rifle maintains an overall length >26"

No, you must pin and back weld a muzzle device to the barrel if it is under 16" for it to be accepted as permanently attached and meet the required 16" minimum limit.

Last I heard even the old silver soldering the muzzle device is now not accepted.
