Case Foam Cut Template

I've been reading up on this a lot, some people talk about just getting the $22 hot wire foam cutter on amazon and other just going to the hardware store for a hot knife. Has anyone here ever tried the hot knife and not royally messed up? haha.

It really boils down to the type/density of the foam and the temperature of the cutter. On the foam of my case, temperature had to be low. Too hot and it would melt away the surrounding material pretty fast and it is less forgiving to mistakes.

I've seen good results with just the electric knives but my OCD kept me from using one.

I bought the hot wire foam cutter on Amazon.....kind of a joke as it would barely cut through butter. I then went online and used some of the information there to buy the correct parts (less than $20) to put more juice into the Amazon Hot Foam Factory cutter. I also added a dimmer type light switch so I can gradually control the amount of heat depending on what I am cutting. In short the Hot Foam Factory table and arm are what I am using but I can now put more juice to it.

For what it is worth be sure to have some ventilation or a small fan as the fumes coming off the open cell foam are not exactly pleasant smelling and cannot be healthy.
