Generally it's in that order too.

Interesting that jdabnabe had the same problem. Just recieved my new HK mags today from Botach. (thanks for info sgtstryker, got 3 mags and 17 bucks off my order which made shipping free plus a few extra bucks off))They look great and the followers do not tilt like the FNH factory mag. Much heavier construction also. I should note that the FNH mag as well as the new HK mags manually cycle dummy 223 Pachmyre ammo through the gun flawlessly. Have not had a chance to try the new HK mags with the problem federal 223 ammo but will in a couple of weeks and report back to the forum. Gun was clean, & lightly lubricated, and I did try the adverse position on the gas valve with no noticable difference at my last range session with the federal ammo. This was the first time shooting the gun which was purchased new so maybe some break in is required also. I should note that I did not dissasemble the gas valve and include it in my initial cleaning from the factory. Did I mess up there?

I love the gun and the way you have virtually no barrel lift due to the muzzle brake. It did function flawlessly when fed 5.56 american eagle and winq 3131a1 so I have no complaints. It did draw a lot of attention at the range as to "what is that" questions by those who were there with mostly deer rifles.

Thanks for all the feedback. You are very kind to provide me with your knowledge and experience.

I've had problems with the last few rounds jamming up, and bent using the stock FNH supplied magazine. (The follower tilts down in front, and the rounds are just slammed out of place by the bolt.)

A few of my older surplus mags work fine. Some don't.

I bought 10 C's stainless mags with the black teflon coating, and they have anti-tilt followers, and work excellent. (In both the FS2k, and my M4gery/Bushmaster.)

And the price was 12.50 each.. Stronger than aluminum, no rust stainless, and a spring that's resistant to taking a set if they ar loaded up for extended time. (If they fail to work right, I'll replace the springs with coiled wire ones I've found pretty much never take a set.)

So, I'm betting it's a problem with your mags, and less to do with the rifle, or even the ammo. (Especially the .223 or 5.56 debate.)

Heck, the FS2k is "modified" by FNH to shoot the .223 better. (Has a lighter firing pin, and added a spring to the pin...)

Some have said those mods will make shooting the hard primer'd 5.56 military surplus problematic due to light strikes...

FS 2000 Shipped back to FNH Yesterday

Adjuster - Thanks for the info. You described having the same problem exactly as mine occurred.

I have purchased 3 H&K magazines but have not had the opportunity to test them. They are anti tilt also and appear very well constructed. I also wrote to Bob Ailes at FNH and he provided a return authorization pre paid to check my gun out with original magazine for the 223 feed / jamming issue and to check the guns trigger pack. He said they do have a trigger pack to address light primer strike issues which as I mentioned I have not had any yet. I will post a follow up when my gun returns with another range time update.

Not sure how to post a image or I would include a photo of the cartridge. It has a scape from the primer end on up along the case as if the bolt tried to catch it and chamber the round but ended up just sliding along the top of the case until the cartridge tilted up and it was t boned by the bolt as best as I can tell.

Thanks again to all for the feedback to this FS2000 newbe.

    Guys:

I just received my FS2K back after sending it in for a "hammer spring upgrade". I fired 90 rounds through without a missfire.

I too purchased the Wal-Mart Federal 55 grain 100 pack, and those were jamming terribly. Since receiving it back, I've fired several types, including Hornady TAP which performed the best by far but is very pricey.

BTW, I purchased four Brownell's 30 round mags and they work great - for $17.00 a pop it's hard to beat.

    Recieved gun back from FNH

I have not tested my rifle since recieving it back from FNH but I will post when I get some range time. When I called FN to check on my rifle they said they performed minor repairs and noted that they replaced the gas valve. Thats all the info they provided. Maybe the valve was not letting enough extra gas through to properly fully cycle the action when I was having jams with the 100 pack federal ammo from Wal Mart. We will see when I get to the range & I will report back to the forum.

    Regards to all

    Doug

    Korean Mags

I ordered a few of the Korean-made http://www.botachtactical.com/visama.html from Botach. These look just like H&K's but won't feed properly. I have asked for an exchange for http://www.botachtactical.com/cprarststma.html. Will share how they work out.

Solved !!! Feed Failure I originally posted solved by FNH!

I contacted FNH concerning my issues with failure to feed 223 even on adverse gas setting as described earlier in this posting. Bob Ailes of FNH authorized a return. FNH paid shipping and return shipping as well. I called while my rifle was under repair and was informed it was on it's way back (cycle time about 2.5 weeks from the time i sent it to them untill i recieved it). I was told the gas valve was replaced and minor adjustments (not identified) were made. The rifle is flawless in it's operation and fed the wal mart Fedreal 223 pickett fence box ammo perfectly on the standard gas setting. I have also retested American Eagle 5.56 tacticle XM193 and Federal lake city XM193.
I am extremely happy with my rifle now and have had no failure to feeds and no failure to fires since it's return. Sorry for the long time providing an update but I had been ill and unable to test my repaired rifle untill now.

If you have any problems with your FS2000 my recommendation is to not second guess anything when the experts at FNH are ready to serve from my experience.
