I just put the first 100 rounds of american eagle ammo thru mine without a single problem except.... I was lining up my sights and "click" nothing happened. I cycled the weapon and then "click". I thougt "not good". I took another look and realized I hadn't put the magazine in yet. Nobody was around to see it and get a good laugh so I figured that you could get a laugh at my expense.

100 ridiculously fun and flawless rounds went downrange.

You were just practicing trigger and flinch control.

Well I might have some bad news... I threw another 100 rounds down the throat of my new FS2000 today and this time I had 5 light primer strikes.

Now at this time I only have 200 rounds thru this rifle and am curious to learn if these speedbumps will smooth out as the weapon breaks in. I was using American Eagle 5.56 ammo in their 200 round value pack.

On another note, I am loving the accuracy and have my Eotech sighted in very well.

Try using very high quality ammo for the break in. Keep the gun well oiled and shoot it a lot and clean it every time.

I really have to agree !

Cal Bob Ailes at FN !!! He will get things fixed " rapidly " for you.

If the thought of sending it in bothers you, - it's rather worthless to you now. Get it fixed right and you'll have a wonderfull gun.

Guys I'm all for doing things by the book and whatnot, but I fixed my FS2000's light strike issues 100% by removing the captive firing pin spring. I didnt bother sending it in to Bob.

I have shot almost a thousand rounds since, NO light hits (and no slamfires, which unless you are using some soft primered hunting ammo, should be a non issue anyway)

And break in period? My FS had 20 rounds fired through it when I bought it, and I immediately put her on a diet of the cheapest steel cased ammo I could get my hands on, and I havent had a jam yet. Approx 1000 rounds later. This gun shouldnt need a break in period, and you should have to waste high dollar ammo to do it.

Just get a pair of needlenose pliers, pull the spring off from the rear, it should remain intact to the point where you could even reinstall it if necessary. I can almost promise you your light strike issue will vanish like a fart in the wind.

I LOVE my FS2000, and I think you will too. Once I got the firing pin issue ironed out, I was head over heels.

    Good luck
