Help me out... would the FS2000 be at least 26" overall length with a 16" barrel. "Less than 16," does that mean that you don't need a Class III for a 16" or larger barrel, or does it need to be 16.1"?Originally Posted by jhs27275
You do the math.
FS2000:
Barrel Length: 17.44"
Overall Length: 29.29”
Cool. Thanks. Guess if I damaged my barrel while trying to clean it (we'll see the next time I go to the range) and need to replace it, the hi-resertdog 16" is what I'm getting.Originally Posted by jhs27275
Anyway to purchase extra barrels
Hey dchang0,
I finally managed to get out to the range and do some shooting for groups. Now before you look at my targets let me say that this was the second time I've fired my FS2000.
The first time was at a 3-gun match and I fired about 30 rounds from 15 to 50 meters. It performed as good as I could have hoped at that match. Very fast transitioning from target to target. Mag changes were comparable with the other guys at the match shooting a myriad of different rifles.
The targets below were shot with the optic that comes with the Standard FS2000. It was overcast and late in the day so there was not much light. I had a sand bag underneath the front of the rifle and my shoulder at the rear seated at a bench. Unfortunately, the targets were from a friend of mine and they were black with red dots. I found it VERY difficult to view the reticle with this target in the background. It was hard to put the vertical crosshair where it narrows to a point, right on the red dot because it washed out. Nevertheless, I held the optic as best I could and the results are below.
I firmly believe I can get groups AT LEAST half the size of these with a good ~20x optic and a solid rest front and rear. I'll be trying this next time. I'm really looking forward to seeing how tight a group I can get. I'm betting on less than 1MOA for sure.![]()
First target is at 53yds. There is a 9mm hole just to the left of the yellow circle. The arrows indicate the point of aim.
The yellow circle is my first try. I had one flyer over the top of the target which is why there is only four holes.
The red circle is the second try. I haven't made any changes to the optic yet.
The blue circle is the third try. I was interrupted by a friend and forgot to finish the string.
The green circle is the fourth try after I fiddled with the optic a bit.
Second target is 113yards. The reticle was almost impossible to make out over this target. I just held somewhere in the middle and this is what I got. Looks like the optic is still too far right.
