Hi there. I have an FS 2000 - love the little guy - one of my coolest rifles. I live in California where I have a couple of choices with this guy: 1) lock magazine or 2) make it featureless (no VFG, flash hider or pistol grip).
Currently I have a Raddlock on it, which appears to be the best solution for the locked magazine option. That said, I think I want to make it featureless (will be easy to plug up the pistol grip hole with some kydex and remove it easily when out of state).
Here are my questions:
1) does anyone out there know what parts I will need to return the rifle back to original configuration? I am currently running the Raddlock magazine locks (on the side with a picatinny rail and another block below). All I have is a plastic mag release button - no screws, springs or anything else....maybe (hopefully) that's all that's needed.
2) If I need some new parts, where can I get them or who can I speak with to get it built correctly?
Thanks!
Danny
Yes, all you need is the original plastic magazine release button. The Raddlock kit reuses the original factory spring and factory steel magazine catch. The only other extra factory parts you should have left over are a pair of tiny hex nuts, because the Raddlock kit replaces them with brass spacers. These hex nuts are standard metric ones that you can buy at any hardware store. They're either M4 or M5.
You will end up removing quite a bit of stuff. The Raddlock kit adds a tiny screw, a recessed metal clip, the outer plastic magazine release "hood," an inner magazine release button, two brass spacers, the tactical rail, and two screws for the rail.
As for parts, there is a thread on here somewhere that has the phone number for Browning parts. They are really cool--I have ordered from them a couple of times. Some parts cannot be ordered, as you must send your rifle back to FN for repairs, and many of the metal parts are very expensive.
Thanks - appreciate your help!
Sounds like it would be easier to just, well,Move out of cali![]()

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig?
You know, I had come to the same conclusion about leaving California, but we have something no other state has: three local, GOOD 3-gun matches a month. I get more practice with my FS2000 in one month than most owners get in a year.
So I'm staying put.
