I bought three of the BCM mags and they have the same code (04TQ4) on the side as the FN factory mag. Also they have what appears to be manufaturing dates stamped in the same locations and otherwise appear identical except for the branded floor plates and followers. I suspect that these are actually manufactured by the same contractor.
The FN mag date is 7 09, has the green follower (but has functioned fine so far). The BCM mags are 12 11 and have the grey followers. Will use for the first time tomorrow.
I also have 3 of the brownells with ranger plates and magpul grey followers. One of these has had a few feed problems, the others worked fine. If the problem continues with the one mag and I can't resolve this issue, I will probably just transfer the follower and ranger plate to the FN mag.
I put original Magpuls on the BCMs and so far I like them better than the ranger plates. Does anyone know what the supposed advantage of the ranger plates is (vesus the original Magpuls)?
