Any tips on how to not breaking them. From the sound of things it is a human induced failure. I know this sounds like a silly question.

You can get replacements from FN Parts.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

I did not even know these things broke until I read this thread. I looked at this piece just yesterday when i was cleaning my rifle. Guess I am lucky, heck I also have had no issues with my charging handle either and see lots people changing that out.

Proper assembly will ensure long life. They do wear out over time, due to the nature of the mechanical function of the part.

I broke one of these too. It was operator error, but still, it is an easy part to snap. Bad reassembly is an easy way to crack one of the corners wide open. I bought a couple to keep on hand. It is worth it to have the spares.

So I called FN Parts and they are shipping me a new switch for a low low price of on the house.

Breaking it was user error. If it doesn't wiggle a little bit then it is installed wrong. When I put the switch in it was pinned in place by the rear housing return spring and that is what broke it.

Thanks everyone for all of the replies.
