    FS2000 CQB Weight VS Tactical

The FNH website lists both the CQB and the Tactical as weighing 7.58 pounds. I read where adding the tri rail forearm to the Tactical adds about 12 ounces. Is there something about the CQB that makes it lighter than a converted Tactical? I need to purchase the lightest rifle and might spend the extra money on a CBQ if there is indeed a difference. Thanks

Well what's up with your rude post? There are TWO CQBs listed for sale on GunBroker which is why I went to the FNH website and looked up the specs. Also, I wasn't "looking" for the MG. I was reading a post about the differences (if any) in the military overrun guns and it listed two links, one was LE and one was Civilian. I'm not sure why the link to the "F2000" was put there but I misunderstood and thought it was a link to the "military" overrun rifle. I looked at the specs for barrel length and weight and that was all. Thought that they had a shorter barrel but the flash hider made it legal length. I was just trying to research all the info that's out there. Didn't notice it was select fire. Another thread stated that the only difference in military overruns and civilian was the barrel length which isn't right. I didn't look at the links adequately but was NEVER LOOKING FOR A MG. My mistake, as if no one else ever makes one on this forum. I did finally read and understand that the military overrun on the market right now (cheap) are exactly the same as the "civilian" rifle (despite the debate going on about polymer, plastic, the military model possibly being inferior, etc. etc.).

If no one knows why the tactical and CQB are both listed as 7.58 then so be it. Their are TWO for sale on Gunbroker, for $2350 and $2109. I guess I'll email the sellers and ask if they are actually IN STOCK or if they are selling items they don't have. Oh, Buds is also selling them for $2349 and says they are in stock (the black CQB).

    Rude?

Just wondering. You asked about two totally different models in a short period of time. I thought if you had something specific in mind that someone might be able to help you find what you are looking for but apparently you don't need the help.

    Good luck with your search.

A pure democracy operates by direct majority vote of the people. When an issue is to be decided, the entire population votes on it; the majority wins and rules. A republic differs in that the general population elects representatives who then pass laws to govern the nation.

    DO this:

Buy the mil overrun weapon and install a tri-trail = CQB.

    Two things will happen:

    1) You'll save a lot of $$$

    2) you'll have more money for ammunition, optic (if desired), magazines, etc.

There is no physical difference between the CQB and a .mil overrun weapon with a tri-rail added.

I have both and they're identical.

The weight difference is a typographical error.

Welcome to FNF and you'll be very happy with the 2K.

Anything else you may need answered, I don't mind a PM so fire away.

    Peace to everybody!

Obviously I do need the help and perhaps I've over-reacted but the PMs I've gotten over the last week (not from this forum) haven't put me in any better of a mood. It's like people continue to beat a dead horse.

I've had ARs, FS2000s, PS90s, etc and am now thinning the herd so that I only stock 5.56/.223 ammo and also have just a couple of rifles that are light and more left handed friendly. I sold my PS90s and Five Seven handguns so that I could sell all the mags, ammo, etc. Sold my S&W VTAC, sold my Colts, etc. I have a couple of unfired LE model Mini-14s I'm going to sell. Also thinned out my handguns. I just had too much money tied up in different caliber ammo and mags, etc.

I have severe degenerative disc disease/arthritis and the heavier rifles are just not fun to shoot anymore. Plus I shoot a rifle left handed and have decided to get something that won't possibly spit out hot gases or empty shells in my face (not that any of my other rifles did, again, it's just what I've read on the forums). I guess I want to end up with ONE or TWO rifles that are fun to shoot (I only go to ranges for plinking, shooting paper targets) and that are as light as I can get, that are as ambidextrous as I can get (I can shoot right handed but I'm left eye dominant). Getting close to retirement and need to STOP CHURNING guns and settle in on something I'll be happy with.

I know there are some lighter ARs (was possibly considering a SCAR 16S and a few others like LWRCI, PWS) but I really like bullpups and the forward shell ejection of the FS2000. If I remember correctly, my other FS2000s seemed to balance very nicely.

I prefer the look of the tri-rail handguard but if it adds weight or makes the gun not balance as good then I have to decide if I will be happy with the stock handguard. That's when I saw on the FNH website that the CQB model was listed as 7.58 just like the Tactical. I also read a post that said the tri rail added to a tactical adds about 12 oz (16 oz tri rail - 4 ounce stock rail). Made me wonder if they've done something else to the CQB or if it's just a SPEC that they didn't change out by mistake. I certainly want to go the cheapest route and if they weigh the same, no use to pay the huge price for the CQB. Plus I really want the ODG and all the CQBs I've found for sale are the black ones.

Still I'd wait to get the CQB is it is indeed 12 oz lighter than the converted Tactical. I think I'll call FNH and see if that is just a typo or what?

OK, I thought it might just be a spec they didn't update. I'll order the ODG FS2000 Tactical tomorrow and "think" about the tri-rail. Ah heck, I'll also order the tri-rail and if it's too heavy then I'll sell it for a loss like everyting else I sell

I still have the E.R.T. sling that I purchased for my last FS2000 and I'll be using an Aimpoint H-1 optic on a LaRue QD mount. Darn if I didn't sell all my AR15 mags so I'll have to re-purchase those. I also still have my padded case so that's good.

That darn Grabagun site has some good prices if I didn't have to pay 8.25% sales tax.....ouch!!! Unfortunately it makes shipping come out a lot cheaper on an expensive gun. On a less expensive gun sometimes it's a push.

    Thanks
